    ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Wagner Ferrero is one of the largest producers of Brazilian specialty coffee. He does it all! Wagner is a an Electrical Engineer, Coffee Grower, Taster, Community Leader, and Total Nerd! Often experimenting in his nursery with varietals, growing, and processing methods. He exclusively grows Yellow colored cherries because of a test he conducted to measue sugar content revealed they had the most!

In spite of not being a self proclaimed enviromentalist, he describes his practices as such:“I just think the least the grower can do is to take care of the soil, give back to the earth what is given, protect the soil and think on the future. It is a tradeoff relationship. The nature is wise and vindictive”.

An all around nice guy, with humility to spare, Wagner has championed several social programs in his community. Including Fresh Water, Agricultural Education, Clean Streets, Youth Soccer, and even wild fire training for his staff at the plantation! All of this and he still manages to win Coffee Excellence awards in both Quality, and Sustainability! He may even be Batman, but their isn't enough evidence to be sure...

Malt chocolate body leads into roasted hazelnut. Maple and cedar wrapped in a creamy soft acidity. You can purchase Fazenda Pantano here: http://cuveecoffee.com/shop/brazil-fazenda-pantano/ Owned by the Ferrero family for three generations, this is one of the oldest coffee plantations still producing coffee in Brazil. Originally created in the mid-19th century as a much larger tract that stretched along the banks of the Rio Grande from the waterfall into the land of Marimbondo Aparecida de Minas, it was visited by then-reigning monarch Emperor Dom Pedro II and Empress Dona Theresa Christina. Even though this farm is steeped in tradition and history, the production is extremely innovative.
