    ABOUT THE PRODUCER

    Ethiopia is perhaps one of the best known coffee growing countries and rightly so as it is the genetic birthplace of the coffee tree. But it is also one of the most complex and misunderstood.

    The genotypes of the heirloom varieties are virtually uncharted due to the immense diversity of coffee trees found in the country. It is these varieties that give Ethiopian coffees their distinctive and much sought after characteristics, as proven with the now famous “Geisha” variety.

    When we first walked onto this farm and saw the uniformity of ripened coffee drying on their raised drying beds, and we knew the hard work of Bedhatu Jibichy and her son, Tesafaye produce coffee is unlike any we have seen in Ethiopia.
