Each of the company's coffees is roasted to order for its customers. Cuvee's wholesale and retail coffee customers are primarily in Austin, Dallas, Houston, but continues to grow nationwide.

Cuvee Coffee also provides professional barista training to Texas coffee house owners, baristas, and coffee enthusiasts and sells high-end espresso, grinding and brewing equipment to specialty coffee houses and coffee connoisseurs.

From humble beginnings

Cuvee Coffee Roasting Company was formed by Mike McKim in 1998 as a side business. The company philosophy was quite simple. Buy the highest quality coffee, precision roast it to exacting standards and deliver it fresh. Since inception, the company has continued to grow, but hold onto that simple philosophy. Coffee sales grew each year and Mike took the company full-time in 2007. Now in its 10th anniversary year, Cuvee Coffee has firmly established itself as the premier specialty coffee roaster in Texas.

Great coffee. Roasted perfectly. Delivered fresh.

Cuvee Coffee's mission is to build a sustainable and profitable coffee roasting business through educating consumers and coffee shop owners while inspiring people about quality coffee. The company is focused on providing consumers with a coffee experience that they have never had before.

Coffee is roasted and shipped daily, five days a week, to ensure that only the freshest coffee arrives to the customer.

Many of Cuvee's coffee house customers are opting to serve customers press pot coffee and traditional espresso drinks, made by professionally trained baristas, rather than selling oversized, over-sweetened, and automatic drip drinks that can mask the true flavors of the coffee.

Cuvee only works with suppliers and partners who are committed to realizing the best possible coffee.

Narrow Focus

Cuvee Coffee only focuses on coffee roasting, selling commercial-grade coffee equipment, and conducting professional barista trainings.

Direct relationships / quality control

Cuvee Coffee's business model is based on improving quality of life and quality of coffee. The company's goal is to build strong, mutually beneficial, lifelong relationships with everyone in the supply chain. Every year, the Cuvee team spends a considerable amount of time and money traveling to the countries and farms of origin to establish and build relationships with farmers who are genuinely interested in improving the quality of their coffee.

"Fair trade" and "organic" are popular buzz words in the coffee industry today. Unfortunately, the reality is that lot of mediocre roasters have reduced these terms to meaningless cliches. They use fair trade and organic certifications to promote low quality coffee – and that certainly is not the intent of those programs.

While several of Cuvee's coffees are fair trade and organic certified, the company is committed to a deeper sustainability model. The company actually pays substantially more than fair trade prices for all of its coffees and focuses on strong, direct relationships with farmers and suppliers who share its vision for the best possible coffee.
