Hosting a barista competition is a true labor of love and would not be possible without the support of a number of people and companies. I will do my best to recognize everyone (in no particular order) that helped to make this event a success.
Thank You,
Mike McKim, Cuvee Coffee Roasting Comapny

Heather Perry, from Coffee Klatch Roasting (San Dimas, CA) helped promote this event and tuned up for the 2007 World Barista Championship in Tokyo, Japan. Here presentation was nearly flawless and her enthusiasn and experience was enjoyed by the crowd and competitors. Good luck in Tokyo!

I could not think of a better person to be the face of our competition than Nick Cho from Murky Coffee (Washington, DC). Nick is also the host of the online podcast portafilter.net. He is one of the most experinced MC's in the business and it was a real treat to have him involved in the first SCRBC.

There are few words that can describe the tireless devotion of Michelle Campbell from the SCAA (Long Beach, CA). Michelle ran things behind the scenes and comforted me when I was not able to think clearly. This event would not have been the success it was without her experience, dedication and devotion the specialty coffee industry.
When I approached people with the idea of co-hosting the barista competition, most people asked me what a barista was and why they would want to do that. The Texas Restaurant Association embraced the idea and really pulled out all the stops to create an event that would attract both coffee and non-coffee lovers alike. Mel Forehand's experience and openness created the stage for the event. Roz Anderson was the master of juggling hotel rooms and reservations and Wendy Saari acted as the master promoter for the event. All in all, this professional staff of talanted individuals helped everything come together.
